How To Reach Mulshi
Mulshi is 40 km from Pune city centre. A private car or bike is the most practical way to get there — there is no direct train service and the local roads require your own vehicle to explore the area.
From Pune (40 km — 1 to 1.5 hours)
Via Paud Road (recommended): Take Paud Road from Kothrud, pass through Pirangut and continue to Mulshi Dam. This is the most direct route and well-signposted. Journey time: 1–1.5 hours depending on city traffic. Google Maps: search "Mulshi Dam" for turn-by-turn directions.
Via Lavasa (scenic alternate): Drive through Lavasa and continue toward Mulshi on the Tamhini Ghat road. This route is longer (60 km) but passes through outstanding hill scenery.
By Bike: Mulshi is one of the most popular bike rides from Pune. The Paud Road route is smooth and scenic — early morning departures (before 7 AM) miss the city traffic. Distance: 40 km, time: approximately 1 hour.
From Mumbai (130 km — 2.5 to 3 hours)
Drive via the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, take the Pune exit toward Kothrud, then follow the Paud Road route to Mulshi Dam. No direct public transport from Mumbai to Mulshi.

Getting Around Mulshi
There is no local auto or cab service within Mulshi. Your own vehicle is essential for exploring the lake, forests and nearby trails. Petrol stations are available in Pirangut (20 km from the dam) — fill up before heading deeper into the area.
