- A wide seasonal river flows through the property and tiny waterfalls become active in rains. River flows at its peak in monsoons.There are small paddy fields in the property where rice is grown during monsoons.
- A seasonal narrow stream divides the 1 acre lawn area into two parts that are connected by a cute bridge.One side is the cottage with a garden swing and the other side is the recreational area.
- Recreational area has a covered riverside sitout for dining and covered BBQ.Tents can be pitched anywhere in the ample lawn area for a camping experience. Open air bonfire and BBQ can be arranged in dry months with no rains.
- A riverside open platform for yoga or morning meditations. A cozy board game/picnic area with exclusive seating made from natural rocks found on the property.
- Seasonal flowers bloom throughout the property creating a spectrum of vivid colors with other ornamental plantations.
- The area is home to indeginous wild fruits like black caronda berries, jamun, pulpy mangoes,lemongrass,etc. which are rare to find in urban areas.
- Ample open parking space available for 4 cars.
- This cottage is an ideal place for those who are looking for an unadulterated nature experience in the countryside. Meditate to the sounds of the birds and the flowing river that is a step away from the cottage.
- The place being away from city lights allows for minimal light pollution which makes it an ideal place for stargazing from September until May. The cottage is the preferred choice of pro astronomers who have photographed the milky way, nebulas, and other celestial objects from our location. You can observe meteor showers,constellations, ISS passovers with naked eye after turning off all the lights. You can even bring your own telescope to set it up in our garden for advanced celestial observations.
- The ample outdoor space and nature makes it an ideal place for you and your furry friends. Go for a hike to explore the surroundings with your pets while you discover and forage the seasonal fruits in the property.
- In the versatile outdoor spaces, enjoy outdoor games and activities with your loved ones. We have provided badminton, board games, carrom, to keep you entertained during your stay.
- If you are fond of adventure activities, Torna and Rajgad forts nearby offer one of the best trekking experiences and views of sahyadri range. The majestic Madhe Ghat waterfall situated in dense forests behind Torna Fort is located just 4 kms away from the cottage. It offers stunning valley views of the Konkan region and Rajgad forts.
- During your stay you will get to taste the locally prepared veg and non veg food in authentic Maharashtrian style.
- Power outages are common in rural areas, especially during monsoons.There is a small petrol generator which will power lights, fans, charging points. It will not power the refrigerator and main water pump.
- We have a separate motor pump to replenish water tanks that works on generators. Hot water is available 24x7 as it is a gas geyser. Genset needs a cooldown period of 30 minutes between consecutive runs.
- Wifi provided is jio sim-based wifi with a daily data limit. If it is exhausted, we will do one complimentary top-up recharge per day.
- Kitchenette usage by guests is allowed only for making baby food or tea/coffee and not for heavy cooking.
- The house is surrounded by greenery and hence post sunset a lot of moths and insects may enter the house if doors are kept open. You must keep windows and doors closed or use bug screens provided to avoid insects entering inside.
- Swimming in the river water is dangerous during rapid flow, even for advanced swimmers. Please refrain from swimming or entering the stream when water is deep and flow is strong. You will solely be responsible for mishaps/ damages/ loss.
- You can safely enter the water for a swim or dip when the water is steady and shallow.
- Surroundings can become slippery so please observe caution while walking bare feet and use shoes with good grip outdoors.Avoid venturing out in dark areas with no lights. Please be aware of your surroundings.
- Nearest market is in velhe which is 25 mins drive from the place. No last minute arrangements for food are possible. We advise guests to carry necessary items from the city and inform us of required meals 24 hrs in advance in order to avoid any inconvenience.
